Overview
Empathy is a complex concept especially when it comes to children learning empathy. With this training, we will learn what empathy is and what it looks like in different age groups. We will also examine the importance of empathy and ways we can teach it to the children we work with.

1.3 k. Uses empathy to help children recognize and understand their emotions
1.3 a. Understands and accepts children’s age-appropriate emotional responses (i.e., crying, tantrums)
1.4 g. Recognizes that a child’s ability to exercise self-regulation and control over his/her body functions, emotions,
